Back at the town square, Mike beeped the trunk open, and I slid my brand new Hector Escobedo Hernandez into it. I took one more 360 glance around me, and slid into the passenger side. Mike headed back down the main street the way we came, and turned east onto highway 37 towards our next destination, Patzcuaro. It was already getting hot, even at this altitude, but the air conditioning was cold. My thoughts were about the superior “souvenir” I had acquired. It was a dream come true.

Another place of interest in Paracho is the museum/performance center, also on the main street of Paracho. This is the place to see several off-the-wall stringed guitar designs. There is also a very impressive ten-foot tall classical guitar, a joint effort by members of the local Club Laudero. Locals perform often in the amphitheater at the rear of the museum. If you visit Paracho, don't miss it.
